Visitation Policy

Because we believe family bonding begins in The Birthplace, our center is designed with the entire family in mind. Fathers are welcome to participate in the care of their babies throughout the hospital stay and may spend the night.

Grandparents, brothers and sisters, and other family members and friends are also very important and are welcome to visit between 11 A.M. and 8:15 P.M. Children under 14 years of age are not permitted to visit unless they are siblings of the baby or the new parents.

We ask all visitors to wash their hands before touching or holding the baby to ensure that your newborn is not exposed to unnecessary germs that could result in illness. Family members and friends who have a contagious illness should not visit.

It is a good idea to let your visitors know in advance what the visiting hours are and when you feel it works best for you to have company. If you need help during visiting hours or, in the event that you do not feel up to visitors, please advise your nurse.

Visitors should take the A elevator to the Fifth floor and turn left and pick up the telephone to request entrance to The Birthplace.
