Over 350 representatives from local businesses were in attendance and enjoyed refreshments and passed hors d’oeuvres, networking and an opportunity to tour Susquehanna Tower before it is open to the public.
At the event the 2012 Business Health Award was awarded to Williamsport-based architectural and engineering firm Larson Design Group. Accepting the award were Brenda Nichols, Chief Financial Officer at Larson Design Group, and William Phillips, Vice President of Human Resources at Larson Design Group.
Susquehanna Health and the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce recently established an annual Business Health Award to recognize businesses that provide innovative health and wellness programs for their employees. A well-designed workplace wellness program can improve employee health and morale, help reduce healthcare costs, encourage employees to be more productive, decrease absenteeism and reduce stress levels. With this award, employers in the region who promote wellness and implement those initiatives in their workplace will be recognized.
All businesses within Susquehanna Health’s 11-county service area will be considered. An online application will be available several months prior to the awards presentation. Information will be distributed through the Chamber of Commerce as well as Susquehanna Health’s website.
