About Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is the second most common diagnosed cancer in both men and women. Lung tissue affected by cancerous cells will grow uncontrollably and begin to form tumors or lumps on the lungs. There are two main types of lung cancer, non-small cell and small cell. Non-small cell lung cancer is the most common type, with variations of subtypes such as squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, bronchioalveolar carcinoma and large cell undifferentiated carcinoma. Small cell lung cancer is less common and is most commonly caused by smoking.
