Progressive Orientation Program

This 8-week program is designed for nurses entering the inpatient arena for the first time. It enables nurses to obtain further educational and clinical preparation while earning full salary and benefits.

Participants are:

  • Newly licensed graduate nurses.
  • RN's with less than two years recent inpatient experience.

Program components include:

  • Interrelated didactic and clinical modules.
  • Reinforcement of skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Lecture, discussion and case study presentations.
  • Topic content includes review of anatomy, physiology, pathphysiology, nursing care and medical management of common diseases as well as time management, delegation, communication and conflict resolution.

Clinical experiences are:

  • Guided by specific performance objectives.
  • Evaluated on a day-to-day basis.
  • Precepted by experienced RN staff.
