What to Expect from the Re-Entry Program
Susquehanna Health's Re-Entry Program is part of our Continuing Professional Education Program and provides a refresher course/employment opportunity for Registered Nurses. The program was developed to address the employment needs of nurses interested in re-entering the acute care work environment after an extended time away from hospital employment.
The Re-Entry Program nurse can expect:
- A program individualized in content to their needs.
- Full employment benefits and salary.
- Acute care employment opportunities upon course completion.
Prior to Applying to the Program
Before applying for acceptance in the Program, you also participate in a four to twelve hour clinical observation in the Rehabilitation Unit on The Williamsport Regional Medical Center campus and in the Medical Surgical Unit on the Muncy Valley Hospital campus. This gives you an opportunity to explore the various areas of acute care and decide if the Program is right for you.
Applying for Admission
Upon completion of the clinical observation, you apply for admission to the Re-Entry Program. Successful applicants complete the Program as 1.0 or 0.8 full time employees with rotation and every other weekend with their RN preceptor. Additional hours will not be required until the completion of the Re-Entry Program.
