Knowing of Williamsport’s Little League World Series, we decided to interview here because the town was surrounded by the most green space of all the places we were considering. From our doorstep, we bike into the hills and local trails. We enjoy the cultural options - the symphony, theater, shopping, great restaurants. With little sprawl of other cities, and affordable real estate, residents who wish to buy a house in Williamsport have no trouble doing so. |

Cultural Events 
Williamsport also benefits culturally from its proximity to colleges and universities by way of their artists' series. Cultural events calendars list activities in the fields of visual arts, film, music, lecture, and theater. Recent noteworthy attractions have included Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal, Bill Cosby, Eileen Ivers, Garrison Keillor, Sara Evens, Lisa Simone, Miss Saigon, The Capitol Steps, Cats and the Eastman Jazz Ensemble. The Community Arts Center, right, a 2,100 seat theater that opened in 1993, has greatly increased cultural programming for the area. First Friday events - On the first Friday of each month, galleries, businesses, restaurants, and personal shops in Williamsport come together for a downtown-wide display and celebration of works by local and regional artists and performers. Your avocational interests can also be met by participating in local performing groups such as the Civic Ballet, Community Theater League, the Williamsport Civic Chorus or the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra and its ensembles.
