Family Medicine Residency Program

Being far from friends and family, I was especially interested in a residency program that promoted an inviting and supportive atmosphere for young families. Social gatherings are a frequent affair here, perhaps at the Bullfrog Brewery for Quizzo, or just a day hike into the hills. Although Williamsport is "small town" in many ways, it also has an abundance of cultural life--from the Little League World Series and Community Arts Center, to shopping and great restaurants. Affordable housing has made it possible for me and my wife to really call Williamsport "home".

Curriculum

Our curriculum meets all national accreditation standards and addresses our residents' particular needs. Each resident's learning is approached systematically to ensure that the resident is completely prepared for practice. Through specialized electives, a resident can develop strengths and correct any weaknesses.

In addition, our curriculum emphasizes all the basic areas of family medicine including outpatient procedures. Residents interested in a strong obstetrical experience can obtain sufficient exposure and education to be confident practicing this discipline upon graduation.

Balint training is offered as part of the Behavioral Science curriculum.
