Katie Bittner couldn’t believe she needed to eat more to achieve her fitness goals. She took exercise classes at the Williamsport Branch YMCA, but she wasn’t losing weight. After meeting with Sharon Belvin, Health and Wellness educator, in March 2016, Katie wrote down everything she ate for the next four days. The results showed she needed to eat more lean protein to support her extensive workouts. “It took me a couple of months to start changing things,” says Katie. “The scales showed a difference first, but I didn’t believe it until I could see it.” Initially Katie met with Sharon weekly, but now she checks in monthly. Even while working 32 hours a week and carrying her heaviest course load ever, Katie feels like she has more energy. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without working with Sharon,” says Katie. “She helped me understand that the choices in my diet are what produce the results I want.”
