A $15-million investment over the next two years will transform the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Williamsport. With more than 10,000 square feet and a new patient-centric footprint, the expansion will include:
- Clinical Areas—A significant portion of the existing physician exam rooms, offi ces, and staff support areas will be expanded and renovated to accommodate 22 physician exam rooms, the addition of new physicians and advanced practice professionals, and the physical space necessary to expand our complementary therapy programming.
- Chemotherapy Infusion Services—The infusion area will be expanded to 28 chemotherapy bays, increasing the number of private rooms and privacy in our open chemotherapy bay area, all while creating an environment of calmness, healing, and comfort.
- Pharmacy Upgrades—The existing pharmacy will be relocated to create efficiencies for quicker treatment preparations for patients.
The UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Williamsport has more than 30,000 outpatient encounters per year, and more than 45,000 procedures are done annually. Expansion is essential to accommodate a growing demand for the Center’s services, which includes same day access to care.
