UPMC Susquehanna Offers Free Glaucoma Screenings

by UPMC Susquehanna

David Cute, DO, ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist at UPMC Susquehanna, will be providing free glaucoma screenings in November and December.

Screenings will be offered from 1 to 5 pm on Friday, November 17, and from 8 am to 2 pm on Saturday, November 18 and Saturday, December 2. All the screenings will take place at 1205 Grampian Blvd., Suite 1D, Williamsport.

“Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness,” said Cute. “The key to early detection and protecting your vision is through routine complete eye exams.”

The screenings are for individuals who are 40 years of age or older, have a family history of glaucoma, elevated eye pressure, have used a corticosteroid for a long period of time, sustained eye trauma, or have diabetes, heart disease, hypothyroid or high blood pressure.
