Receive the Right Diagnosis & Treatment for Elbow Pain
The elbow is a joint comprising of bones, ligaments, tendons, cartilage and cushioning structures (bursae). If damage occurs to any of these parts, elbow pain is the most common symptom.
Elbow Pain Causes
The primary cause of elbow pain is injury from overuse, including conditions like bursitis, tendonitis, sprains and strains (and arthritis in some cases). Blunt force trauma injuries from playing sports, physical labor or other activities can also cause elbow pain.
Depending on the cause and extent of your elbow pain, your doctor may be able to diagnose it during an office visit. In some cases, your doctor may order an X-ray or MRI to get a better picture of what is causing the problem.
